An excerpt from the Royal Decree 'New World: Holiday'
The year is coming to a quiet close. There has been much fanfare and conflict through-out. But, for once, it would be my wish, to see all Pioneers join together in thankful remembrance and loving community. The harsh lands of Granado Espada have taken so many; it is us who should be thankful and happy for what we have. As the snow falls and the calendar turns let us share our losses, our wins and our hopes for the New Year!

There is something stirring in the New World. The snowfalls, but never rests, instead it gathers and begins to move. The magic and mystery of this land has made snowmen appear throughout the New World, though the season seems to have inspired these magical creatures to delight and not destroy. Filled with the spirits of pioneers lost, these snowmen share a common goal, to bring joy to the living left behind.

After their initial appearance, a snowman came to Reboldeaux by the name of Jack Frost. He claimed to be the snowmen's leader and convinced Sir Lyndon that the snowmen were harmless. So under the direction of Sir Lyndon, the Office of Pioneering Support has allowed these snowmen to enter the cities, though their appearance is usually short lived.

Jack Frost has promised that all Pioneers who 'tag' a snowman in the battlefield, will gain a 'Christmas Stocking'. Though the snowman will disappear, the spirit will emerge elsewhere in the world. These Christmas Stockings will give pioneers a chance at random items including:
- New holiday buff items like snowmen and Christmas trees,
- Crafting materials,
- Mission lobbies,
- The Letter "X"
- Boss keys and much more!
Jack Frost himself will be gracing each of the major cities several times a day. If you find Jack Frost and get a screenshot with him while wearing a Santa Costume, post the screenshot here (make sure your family name is visible in the screenshot and state what world you play on) and you will receive 10 Christmas Stockings!!! But you have to be quick, Jack Frost tends to melt quickly in the warm climate and hustle bustle of the major cities! He only sticks around for about 5 minutes!!! (NOTE: You may only claim this once a week. Prizes will be awarded every Thursday.).

With the appearance of these snowmen Leo and his Cash Merchants have decided to have a Holiday Sale. Some say Leo has gone insane. Prices in the cash shop have drop by 30-50% through out. Not only that but Leo has added new Santa Costumes and Mystery Powder. This is the best time of year to take advantage of the season!!!

Sir Lyndon has also authorized 2 new NPCs. One in Reboldeaux and one in Coimbra. Each of these NPCs have their own assignment.

In Reboldeaux, next to Leo, you will find a lone fighter who has "arranged" for special Christmas Trees to appear in each of the major cities every night begining at 6:30pm PST (-8GMT). After speaking with her you can go out and find these trees, there are a total of 18 trees to be found and every hour new trees appear in new places. Be quick about it though because the trees disappear about 30 minutes.

Find trees to receive the following rewards:
- 6 trees: 25 Snowmen,
- 12 trees: 3 Rudolf Antlers
- 18 trees: 3 Santa Hats
- 18 trees AND 100 letter "X"s: 1 Santa Costume of your choice.
*NOTE: The letter "X" is a random drop from the Christmas Stockings.

In Coimbra, next to the Warp Point, there is another fighter who is collecting letter "X"s. He will give you a Santa Costume of your choice if you bring him:
- 20 Letter "X"s
- 15 Mystery Powders
*NOTE: You can find Mystery Powders in the cash shop for 25 gold a piece.
